Paetin's Pot of Gold!

I really did mean to post this BEFORE Winter Break.. but I forgot to get a photo, and really, this is more than photo appropriate! (; Paetin was the first kid in her class to pass all of her rainbow words! So.. rainbow words are the 60 "sight" words that they want to kids to learn. There are ten words per color on the rainbow, making 60 words. Paetin had been bugging and bugging Miss Zakarian to test her on her yellow words, but she didn't have the flash cards ready for testing. So when she got them done, she did all of them! And Paetin just did one color after the next, and tested all the way to her gold pot! (; She is so proud of herself, and tells us that she won the race.. it is sad, everything to her in a competition, but I guess whatever motivates her must work! She works so hard both at home, and at school! We couldn't be more proud of her!

Her 60 words were :
Red:
like, I, to, see, a, can, go, am, we, and do.
Orange:
and, for, in, on, my, the, he, you, it, and is.
Yellow:
what, look, be, had, of, as, at, was, your, and are.
Green:
they, that, with, she, get, has, an, girl, boy,  and there.
Blue:
will, every, word, said, but, number, this, people, them, and have.
Purple:
who, were, come, could, about, now, each, many, from, and her.

She is still waiting for her certificate, and I'm sure Miss Zakarian knows by now, that she will not be forgetting about it anytime soon. (;

Paetin doesn't just know these words. She is amazing at sounding things out both when reading, and writing. She writes stories, and has us read them. It is a huge boost to see how well she is doing here at home! She know addition, but we starting working with her on subtraction and light multiplication over the break, and she is doing awesome! (; The true best part is, how much she completely LOVES to learn it all. <3
