Our Merry Christmas 2012!

We were up super late on Christmas Eve playing "Santa" and of course baking like a magic elf! Edward and I didn't get to bed until after 2:00 A.M. so when our alarm went of at 6:15, we were definitely wondering if the cherry rolls on Christmas morning were truly worth it! LoL.. but who were we kidding? Of course they were! (; We got our dill bread made, an two pies baked the night before, so all we had to do was get our sweet dough put together, wait for it to rise and bake just a little more before the girls woke up. Who knew that the earliest one would be Paetin after 8:15!! LOL!! Our tradition at our house is that we allow the girls to open ONE gift on Christmas Eve, our Chrismas Jammies. Then you can wake up whenever you want, and you can open your stockings as you please, but we won't open any presents until after our breakfast, which won't happen until everyone is up, and well, when we get around to it. Just to be clear, our breakfast is usually around 9-9:30 on Christmas morning. So what is only an hour to us, is an eternity to a little person anxious to get ripping! (;

Well, Paetin was happy to open her stocking, even happier when Cameryn came down and she got to help her open her's, and even MORE thrilled when she got to dig into her homemade bread, bacon and cherry rolls! (; After breakfast it was time to open presents. We had the missionaries over, so we wanted Paetin to see her "Santa present" while they were still there! So I hope you enjoy this video of her discovering that Santa did, indeed, bring her her trampoline!! (:

The girls really hit the jackpot this year! They got so much good stuff! I really don't know how we pulled it off this year, but it was soo much fun to do as well! Between bargain finding, DIY gifts, and just a small splurge here and there, the girls really had a lovely time! I have to say, I usually take pride in a well kept house, but tonight was the first time I've even attempted to pick up any of the new goodies! We hung out all day jumping, watching movies and snacking on bread with jelly, pie, and finishing off the cherry rolls. Then of course, being the unusual family that we are, we BBQ'd some hamburgers for dinner since it is what sounded amazing! No one in our house was complaining about food. (;  I don't think the girls have stopped since Tuesday morning. They are either jumping, driving the car, riding the lion, or going crazy with their puppets, and learning from our "backpack" (AKA Leap Frog) collections! I can't even get into the little things they do in between.. but man. No one is having a hard time laying down for long and quiet nights these days!

We hope you guys had a very merry Christmas! I am so glad that Edward was home for three days to truly enjoy it with us! Now it is time to finish off the girls' bedrooms and we can bring in the New Year in style! (;
