Christmas Projects!

I'm sure by now you all know, that I truly, TRULY, love projects. They make my soul beyond happy. Uplift any fowl mood I may encounter. Give me purpose on a lazy day.. Well.. I think you get the idea; I like projects. (; Christmas is going to be coming up fast and this year I'm hosting a Cookie Exchange and Soup Party! So, I guess it's time to get the house presentable! Eddy of course, is sure to keep the kids out of my hair, so I'm free to work away!
First things first, I had to convince Eddy that our banister HAD to be stained before the party. This of course didn't take much work at all, he knew I was right. Now getting him to help me sand it [a task that is just too much for my little arms to complete on my own **wink, wink**] was another story. Mostly I invited Ben over and he helped me and Eddy knock it out of the way, and then they were free to hang out as I wiped it down and stained away to my hearts content. I won't lie. I think it looks fabulous! Now I can't wait to do the kitchen cabinets [since I've already done all three bathrooms] and add knobs! Though that will have to wait until February when I have a bit more time. (;

Second [well, really I did this first] I hunted down my big D.I.Y.'s for Christmas presents this year. This is the only one I have been able to acquire cheaply, but hey, I have a month! (; This is the "Mini Mobile"! I paid $15 for the LIttle Tikes Cozy Coup, and $12 for all the paint. (; Whoot, whoot! I still have to add the ears to the top, but I just came up with my plan of attack on that one! This is for Cameryn Raye. My little "mini-girl". It is going to be perfect. She has been wanting a car sooo bad, and as much as I would love to spend a ton of money on a motorized car for her to drive around in, I don't have the best area to own one. We live on a street, and i feel like there are plenty of cars always going.. and our backyard is empty and full of dirt, but our plan in the next few months will not allow that much "driving" space to get my moneys worth.. plus, I wouldn't be able to make one of those, this cute! (; Keeping things simple, yet fun! I LOVE this turn around item, and I hope I can find a Little Tikes play house to do sometime!

Next came the trim. I haven't had a trim since we moved in. It has been driving me up the wall having a gap between my wall and where the tile ends.. I felt like every time anyone walked into my house, no matter how many times they'd been there, that it was all they would see! I know I looked at it all the time. Needless to say, it is done! Mom and I worked on it a couple hours two evenings and, WALLA! It is marvelous! Of course it is not perfect, but man, it sure looks 100% better in my book (;

And last but not least, my Christmas decorating is to begin! All I had done last year was concentrate on the tree.. well this year I need more. I made a little something for the banister, a ruffle tree skirt [my absolute favorite!!!] and of course got the stockings I'd been itching for the last two years! I need to get some poinsettias for the tree, and I have it on my list this week to make some reindeer accent pillows with the girls' prints this week! Not to mention some wall snowflakes and a window display.. Mmmm. I LOVE Christmas! So here are my projects this far, and I can't wait for the rest to get done! Not to mention the giant hole we have to dig for the biggest "Santa" present of them all for the girls! (; Alas, more to come! Happy Holidays!
