Paetin's "Outstanding Acheivement" Award!

On Thursday Paetin received the, "Outstanding Achievement" award for her Kindergarten class! It is a lot like the "Kiwanis" when I was kid, except that you receive it at an assembly in front of everyone verses just in the classroom. We are soooo proud of our big girl! The teacher chooses two students in the class room that feels have been exemplary in the class, and in the academic criteria! It is too bad that they can only be chosen once a year! Though, there is always the "honor roll" awards to add to these next year, and I bet she'll LOVE to be on that one every quarter. (;

At Paetin's parent teacher conference, she is the only student [when assessed] that can answer all of the questions correctly. Miss Zakarian really enjoys having her in the classroom, and has decided that she is going to pass Paetin on the harder criteria to keep her challenged throughout the year. Talk about a proud Mama right here! Not to mention, she is writing full sentences on her own, saying whatever it is that she felt like saying. It is so fun when she brings me a note. (; She also read me a WHOLE book on her own the other night. "I Can Read with my Eyes Shut" by Dr. Suess. From beginning to end, she read it all, and told me goodnight. (; Of course bedtime stories don't take as long when I read them, but they definitely aren't as sweet either! I just love seeing how much she is growing, and how much of a sponge she is! She thrives to learn, and is so excited about school. I am sooo happy that her teacher is Miss Zakarian. She is sweet as pie, and really encourages her students to grow individually as well as in the group. I can't wait to see where Paetin stands next quarter, but for now, it is Fall Break! (:
