May Brought me Projects!
For those of you who "know" me . . you know that I am a bit of a project hound. I always have something going, and if I don't, then I'm going crazy! Thankfully, this year I've stayed busy with a lot of small things. . but once the company wasn't constant, I started to get kinda cooky in the head. So May, for me, meant time to keep busy!
I had already been doing some things here and there, like our master bathroom and our entry room . . but I wanted to do something more along the lines of DIY in a cheap manor [not that I hadn't done those cost efficiently!!] So I did a few things like - made some sandwich and snack bags for Paetin to take to school! I have yet to put the velcro on them, but I LOVE them none the less. They even fold out to be place-mats, and the snack ones open all the way, so no crumbs will get stuck in little corners. (: I have 7 sandwich, and 16 snack bags, and just have a lunch bag to make, and she'll be set for her coming school year! With NO plastic to toss everyday. (; Then we made a bench out back. This was super easy, and it's great for us to have a place to sit when we're out there with the little people. Not only that, but the cushion tops come up for a storage place for toys! That alone, was worth it, even if we couldn't sit. So in a way, it's like a double score. d: I also FINALLY got my photo wall up in the living room. We made a collage board, stained and hung some spice racks, and put our albums up with a quote. I just LOVE pictures, so for me, this was the perfect touch. (: I did the same thing up in the play room for the kids' books. They actually got the reading corner I've been wanting since we moved in. I painted those racks to match the word "read" that is on the wall above their bean bags and stuffed animals to relax on with a book. We noticed that five shelves didn't cover their amount of books, so we'll be getting three more to put up very soon! Last but not least, I made us coasters!! Eddy picked out the papers to use, and even helped me sand them down. But we now have 12 coasters to use! Isn't that homy? LoL. It wasn't a gigantic project month, but I did get things done, and we're quite pleased with them. (: Now to work on the list of all the other things I want to do! I'm thinking that the girls' bathroom will be next. (;
