Of course, the new again grandparents wanted to come down to see their newest addition! Dan and Ladena [Eddy's parents] made their first visit to us the same day that Karen flew out. So really, not a dull moment here for a while! If you've followed these posts at all, you'd know that my in-laws hadn't met Cameryn until I flew up to Washington with the two girls for Christmas. Now they didn't know we were coming, so it was a complete surprise to them when they saw not only Paetin and myself, but their never seen 3 1/2 month-old grand-baby, Camy. (: So this time they weren't going to miss out. Rylee was only eleven days old before they saw her. (:
Dan and Ladena came down for one week. January 19th-26th. We didn't do a whole lost. Mostly just hung out with the kids. They got to play games with Paetin, snuggle and read with Camy, and of course snooze with the littlest, Rylee, when they saw fit. And don't forget all the coffee! It was really nice having them. The girls really got to know them, and have personal time with them. Something that they really hadn't had before. The only real downside was that Camy was teething with her eye teeth . .and man, oh man, was that a tough week for her. ):
Dan did lots of long walks every morning. I'm pretty sure that he was enjoying the warmer weather that Arizona provided for him. (: And since he, like me, is a bit of a project person, he saw fit to get to some of the things that Eddy and I just hadn't started. He, Eddy, and Paetin all got upthe door lock on the front door. And I'm pretty sure that it took all three of them! d: He also took Paetin's, what she calls, assistance in digging up our back yard rocks, weeds, and other miscellaneous items, as well as evening out the ground. Now we have a good surface to start out backyard work on whenever we can afford to get going. That was really awesome of him.
We took the littles to the park, went on walks and mostly just enjoyed the family time. Not to mention, Paetin got to do Grandpa Dan's fingernails. (: You should know, to become her best friend, this is really the only torture she requires as to "pledge". She'll love you forever if you agree to it! As a surprise for them, we had our buddy Paul come over and take some family photos [see family photos]. That was pretty awesome since we don't get many photos with them. (: We also got some ourselves of Eddy and his parents. He wasn't feelings too hot the day of photos.. so this just had to make do. It was lovely to have the company, and I know the littles sure enjoyed getting to know their other grandparents better. (: Hopefully they'll come again sometime. (:
