Eddy and I woke up at 5 a.m. This was NOT intentional. By 6:15 or so, we'd decided that we might as well get up and get started on our family breakfast. Cherry rolls and cinnamon rolls. Mmm. (: That way by the time the girls got up, they'd be perfect and ready to eat. (: Or at least we'd hoped. LoL. First of all, my sweet dough didn't raise. Again. ): Talk about a sad adventure for me! LoL. Eddy's response was, "Mine looks beautiful. (:" What a jerk!! LoL. So I told him he had to help me make mine, I was beyond frustrated and couldn't stand messing it up again. So as he makes it, right as he is ready to meade the dough, we're out of flour. Go figure. Lovely. And of course on Christmas day, no store is open. (We later learned that Safeway was actually open LoL) So alas, we decided, after a bitter dispute on which to make, that we would split his dough in half, and make half a batch of each. LoL. Thanks, Mom, for giving us that idea!! And just so you know, half a batch of each, was MORE than enough for our little family of four. LoL. Twelve cherry rolls and twelve cinnamon rolls later, it was as though my dough had risen at first, and nothing had gone wrong at all. LoL.
Paetin did NOT wake up between 7:30-8:00 like normal. Come 8:15 we were down in the ktichen (finishing up our last placements into the oven) and wondering where our children were. No noises were coming from the monitor, and we'd had yet to hear Paetin little feet running down the hallway and stairs. FINALLY, she came down, completely thrilled that Santa had "put presents in her sock!" My mom was on i-Chat with us, so Paetin promptly grabbed her stocking, my computer, and came into the living room to open up the little goodies that had been placed inside the night before. (: Santa had gotten her Piggy Paints galore, and her new addiction to Whinnie the Pooh had been fed! ( : Then, Camy was up and it was time for our lovely breakfast. Mmmmm... and was it delicious!!
Paetin was jumping in her jammies waiting for everyone else to finish their food so she could open presents. She actually tried to help Camy eat hers so we could move our way towards the tree. I LOVE this age! She is old enough to understand the concept of Santa, and she just had so much fun with it! Though, I have to tell you. The week leading up to Christmas day, she was rather worried that Santa wouldn't be able to get into our house since we do not have a chimney. I can't tell you how many times we had to reassure her that Santa would be able to get in just fine, and that his reindeer would NOT get lost. (: Needless to say, she was quite thrilled to see that Santa had put a few more things under her pretty little tree, the evening before while she was in bed. (:
Tons of books, toys, games and clothes later. All the presents were open and it was time to play. (: We headed up to the play room and checked out all the goodies and found places for them. And FINALLY nap time came!! Oh man were Eddy and I ready to lay down. (: We woke up, played some more, had a roast, and called it a lovely Holiday! (: I hope that ya'll had a great Christmas with the people you love, and call family. <3
