This year for Halloween, Paetin had been going back in forth for literally MONTHS on what she wanted to dress up as. It was mostly between her beloved TinkerBell, and Snow White. Now, since most things in her life are Tink, I was thinking Snow White would be more fun. So I won't deny it. I tricked the little one. LoL. I watched the movie with her and then asked her who she wanted to be, and said whoever you say now, is it! Of course having watched the sweet princess just sing and bake with furry woodland creatures, it was a win for Snow White! LoL. Now being the frugal person that I am when it comes to kid things, I of course insisted on making her dress myself. And I have to say. I was quite pleased with the results. ( :
Now Camy Raye was another story! From the moment she fell in love with her Sophie the Giraffe toys, we had found the cutest hat to make her the perfect Sophie. The only problem was, by the time October came around, I wanted the girls' costumes to go together more and more! This might be my last chance to make them match, and I didn't want to miss it! Halloween is by far NOT my favorite holiday, but the one joy I get out of it, is dressing up the littles. ( : Not to mention their joy. Well, at least Paetin's anyways. So.. then came the debate. To make a Sophie, or to have her costume somehow go with Paetin's. What do we make, another princess?? Nope. Here comes in my mother's geniousness! Camy was to be Snow White's "Apple"!! ( : Once we'd decided I knew I loved it! LoL. And well, Camy wasn't going to care, c'mon, she's only thirteen months! LoL. So how to make a baby an apple and yet keep them happy?? Eh, you just dress them in red and put dobbles on their cheeks! At least, that's what we did! LoL. Along with a crocheted apple top hat (something I LOVE regardless of the costume so she definitely gets use out of it!) she was about as Apple-ish as you get! ( :
Then of course there were me and Eddy. Now, we can be honest on here, you all know my husband. He isn't the most spontaneous person in the world, so when I mentioned that we should be cherries on a stem (to enhance my round belly) he was less than thrilled with the idea. ) : So, no dressing up for us! Alas, my friend Kaela had insisted I buy a pumpkin shirt while I was home in WA. So like the obvious choice, I rocked the pumpkin belly from dusk 'til dawn! ( : Since Halloween marked my advance of thirty [30] weeks into the pregnancy, we thought it only suitable with a big "thumbs up" in celebration.
Trick or Treating was of course an adventure! What can we say, when you have littles, you go until they're tired and ready right? Let's just say, getting the kids ready took just as long as our trick or treating tales!! Paetin was only out for about an hour when she was pooped and ready to call it a night! This of course, worked for us! She'd gotten the candy, and we didn't have to chase her until all hours of the night! Another nice aspect this year, not too many houses went to extremes to decorate. As the simplest Halloween decor scares Paetin into screams, it was nice! And also, most people sat on their porches! Which takes away the "scariness" of having to walk up to the dark doors. It was a pleasant evening, and our little apple only made it part way. So, we came home, cleaned up, sent the littles to bed, and enjoyed the rest of our evening. Since Eddy was actually home that night, it was real nice to get some quiet time. ( :
I hope ya'll had a Happy Halloween! We know what's coming up now! 'Tis the Holiday Season, and we here at the Polansky home, are quite excited to celebrate! ( :
