Since the move we've been fidling around here and there in the house trying to get things set up the way we want them. Go figure it's taken about a year to get this place feeling like a home! Since we've never had our own place before, we really only had the basics. We've started a play area in the living room for the kids to play! It's far from done, but I'm loving it anyways! Just some things here && there that I need to add, but Paetin really enjoys having all of there things accessible in the living room where everyone else is. (=
Paetin's room was a hallway. Everytime I walked into that room it felt like an echo lodge! So we rearranged it so the shape wasn't as enhanced! With an expedit && a hanging net her room is very organized in such a simple way! We all love it! She can see everything she needs && we got rid of the boxes that were hanging around! Paetin picked out the colors for her bed "rag" quilt that I made her, as well as her curtains && wall shade! She absolutely loves butterflies so we put some decals on her wall and she has her wonderful hanging butterfly that Austin (her biological dad) sent her for her first birthday. She's turning into quite the little princess && we're loving every minute!!
Pink, pink, pink! Everything is pink! She's really into dolls, tea sets, painting nails, && babies. Yet she still loves to be outside and get dirty!! She is such a little person now && it's a ton of fun!
Our nursery is FINALLY finished!! As you know, we did not find out the gender of our little Cameryn while I was pregnant. She was quite the surprise since everyone had me convinced she was going to be a boy! So while we were preparing for her arrival we had to keep everything neutral! We love the color that we painted the nursery - with the dark espresso furniture it just was a very rich looking color! We are very pleased with how it turned out! Since we are on a budget in life we had to get things as we could afford them, and we checked out Craigslist regularly!! Eddy's Nana && brother, Chris, bought us our crib! We love it!! Robbie got us our rocking chair as a gift for Cameryn. So all we needed to worry about was a dresser right? Well thanks to my thrifty sister-in-law, Janel, we found our dresser && changing table on Craigslist for $200! Tell me that's not a deal?!? Man we love it!! It matched perfectly && both pieces are VERY sturdy! We just added the finishing touches like the night light (on the wall) and baskets in the dresser cubby && another for blankets just recently! It finally has a finished look! Now that Cameryn is six [6] weeks old she sleeps in there! She looks so tiny in her crib, but I have to admit - her sleeping seven hours a night in another room, is rather freeing!
The room is a kind've smaller room so it is very hard to get pictures of everything! I promise it's not as cluttered as it seems!! (=
Our room is still a work in progress! Our furniture doesn't all match LOL. We're hoping to get a dark dresser to go with our 9-cube && hopefully a black iron frame for our bed as well. Eventually we want to move our black sofa from our living room to under our bedroom window.. this of course means we need a new couch for our living room! We are keeping our eyes open online for a great sectional! (=
Right now we have our pack-n-play bassinet in our room still for Cameryn.. she sleeps there still in the mornings, we'll move it to the living room as we start to finish off the two rooms. Between the living room && our bedroom there will be plenty of shuffling! (= We have my brother's mini fridge in our room which is nice at night when you're wanting something cold to drink! It's still his but Janel doesn't really have a place that she wants it, so for the mean time it's in our care!
We finally painted my dark red wall! My brother calls it purple && I have to admit, it kinda makes me sad. I love the color! It matches our bedding to a T! So here is our room as is, && of course when we finish it I'll post more!!Then of course we got our wedding memorial all set up! I mean, what do you do with all the keepsakes from your wedding? I'm working on our scrapbooks, I have one for Cameryn that my mother-in-law, Ladena, sent - just needs photos. I made one for Paetin - just needs photos && I'm working on one for Eward && me. Our engagement, my bridal shoot, && our wedding will all be in this. It's a pretty big book and so far I have all the pages set up && even some photos in, except for our wedding section! I need Edward to help me go through && see what we want to do, but he's a master procrastinator for sure! Anyhow, with everything we're NOT scrapping, it was all just sitting in a box. Luckily for us we have a high shelf in our living, && nothing to put on it..well.. until we decided we did NOT want boxes in our closet if we could avoid it! So here is what we did! We have our thank you card, our toasting glasses, ring bearer pillow, guest book && pen, a love script, our willow tree promise statue, && our baskets that held the petals to toss at our getaway! I really like the way that it turned out!
You have done a great job with the house, making it a home! Enjoy how little you have for now, believe me it adds up over the years! Besides less to clean and more time for family fun! Love you guys!
